PPM Vs VU Meters

• PPM and VU are analogue metering formats.
• PPM(Peak Programme) Meters measure the highest volume of a signal.
• VU(Volume Unit) Meters measure the average volume of the signal and try to represent perceived loudness. Because they are taking an average, it is possible for transients to slip through. They display RMS(Root Mean Squared) average values.
